The one-page CV that gets interviews in 2026
Recruiters spend about seven seconds on a first scan. Here is how to make those seconds count.

After reviewing more than 40,000 CVs last year, our recruiters agree on one thing: the best ones are short, specific and built around results.
1. Lead with a two-line headline
Replace “objective” with who you are and what you are great at: “Finance controller who closed month-end in four days at a 300-person distributor.”
2. Numbers beat adjectives
“Reduced churn 18% in two quarters” tells us more than “results-driven team player”. Aim for one number per bullet.
If a bullet could appear on anyone’s CV, rewrite it until it could only appear on yours.
3. Cut everything older than ten years
Early roles can live in a single line. Recruiters care most about your last two positions.
4. Make it scannable
- One font, two sizes
- Bold job titles, not company names
- Save as PDF with your name in the file name
